Jeanne Hachette Blue Version

The Jeanne Hachette Transformation deck created by Belin is a unique set of playing cards designed by E. le Tellier and produced by Baptiste-Paul Grimaud in France in 1860. The deck is part of the Jeanne Hachette family named after the queen of Spade which contrary to popular belief depicts Jeanne Hachette, a heroine of the 1472 Beauvais resistance siege, rather than Joan of Arc.

This deck is known as the Hachette blue version as Jeanne dress is blue in contrast to the other popular version of this deck, published by Frommann and Bunte in 1872, which features a red-dressed Jeanne Hachette and is therefore known as the red version. The Frommann version also features 10 different designs from this version including three of the four aces.
